Don't Make Me Think

Having a website that is easily understood and navigable is extremely important in today's market. This reading discusses how the best way to have a good website is to make every portion so simple and self-evident that even the least capable of technology users could figure it out. Many websites currently out there have a hard time grasping this concept and often are so overloaded with information and are generally disorganized that it makes it nearly impossible to do the task you are trying to accomplish. The point made at the end of the chapter about why this strategy is so crucial caught my attention. Many will say it's important because people will just hop to a competitors site if they can't figure out yours, which is true, but the multitude of websites that people do not have the option of not using need to be catered to easing their experience. At the end of the day, websites are created by businesses to communicate with the consumer and if the people creating those sites don't the consumer into consideration then they are doing themselves a disservice.
